As a freelance translator, you work mostly in a virtual world. Plus, you may also be vulnerable to translation scammers, new clients with no business identity. Also, you should be aware of how to read contracts and non-disclosure agreements from potential clients, how to protect and backup their data, how to use cloud-based tools, how to handle payment issues, and more. Plus, you should be able to manage any potential risks before, during, and under providing your language service. In a four-hour training session, you will be able to manage any potential risks related to the industry.

• Required: Windows Vista, Windows 8, or Windows 10 
• Required: Google Chrome v39 or later; Mozilla Firefox v34 or later; Internet Explorer v8 or later (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
• Required software: Zoom desktop app; JavaScript enabled
• NOT required: Microphone – attendees can communicate with the trainer through incorporated chat. Yet, it is recommended.
• Internet Connection Required: 1 Mbps or better (broadband recommended)
• Recommended: 2GB or more of RAM (recommended)

The session can be delivered online/offline to give an orientation to students, translation newbies, and freelancers about how to manage any potential risks in the translation & localization industry.
